The cult Connoisseur 'Weir' hat is a phenomenon in it's own right, arguably our signature item to date - each release comes with huge anticipation and each time the hats sell out consistently in just minutes. This has become the must have choice of head wear amongst a merry band of cool cats, budding outdoorsmen and a hardy bunch of ne'er-do-wells. Often, as many miss out as those who buy them - we have deliberately limited each release to just 50 pieces per colour and continue to do so, despite the overwhelming demand for many more. This we believe is keeping to a proper casual ethos, exclusive and elusive amongst a sea of mass produced goods.
The hats have become sought after by collectors and very often fetch three to four times the original retail price on eBay.
The hype and excitement each release brings was never fully intentional, but  we are very proud of what we have achieved with this item, however, it must always remain a cult and not a cash in. The Weir's name is inspired by and a nod to Scottish broadcaster, climber and bobble hat icon
Tom Weir [ 1914 - 2006 ]

Disclaimer. We decided to name The Connoisseur Bobble hat the 'Weir' after The little known (south of the border) Scottish broadcaster and all round rambler Tom Weir because we love his choice of titfer. This is purely a homage and a little nod to him and in doing so have brought the attention of him and the great outdoors to a new audience.
The Casual Connoisseur wishes to state that we are in no way linked or affiliated with Tom Weir or any publications in any official capacity whatsoever.
