One of our favourite films here at  The Casual Connoisseur is Ken Loach's Kes made in 1969, based on the novel 'A Kestrel for a Knave' by Barry Hines, Ken Loach took it to the big screen, small screen and later the compulsary school telly screens, an unforgettable tale, as funny as it is poignant, a real landmark which shows an old England as a perfect time capsule, centered around the battle for survival from young Billy Casper.
This, a reinterpretation of an original British film poster from what is often regarded as one of the Greatest British films ever made. Ranked 7th in the BFI's Top Ten Brit films.
